It was their biggest march to date!

Well Done to Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services and their organising team. It was estimated that approximately 300 women, children, men and non-binary people participated in the annual event this year.

Starting earlier in the afternoon with a banner making workshop, followed by a singing workshop and fabulous homemade vegan chilli for lots of energy, the march kicked off around 6:30 through Exeter city centre. Lots of chanting, whistles and positive energy called for an end to sexual violence against women as the march wove through the city attracting lots of interested onlookers. The march stopped at various spots for speeches, singing and poetry before ending at Princess Hay for some final words and more singing.

Whatever we wear, Wherever we go. Yes means Yes and No means No!

Reclaim the Night is an event that happens across the UK and around the world during November giving women a voice and a chance to feel safe on our streets. Allies Against Abuse, a Devon community network for violence prevention, supported by SAFE were also there in support of the Exeter event. Big thanks to Emma, Georgia and Zac for representing the network on the night.

If you missed the event this year there is always next year to show your support and raise your voice!
