We are Stop Abuse For Everyone. We want a world where everyone is safe, equal and respected. We come from a diverse range of backgrounds, training and experience. All of us are dedicated and passionate about ending domestic violence and abuse.

Our trustees.

Our trustees are responsible for the overall strategy and control of SAFE.

We have eight trustees in total who have a vast range of experience in working with vulnerable women and children as well as specialists in family law

Staff and volunteers.

We are a rapidly fast growing team of volunteers and 14 paid staff members. Our staff team may only be small but we are certainly determined to follow our mission by working together to end domestic violence and abuse.

Our volunteers get involved in all aspects of the organisation from admin work and fundraising to working directly with our service users. For more information on volunteering for SAFE click here.

Our CEO.

Jacinta Wainwright was appointed to CEO in February 2015.

Jacinta has extensive experience as a practitioner and executive manager in the voluntary sector. She has post graduate qualifications in psychology and domestic violence practice. She has led organisations in the development of innovative domestic violence programs in Victoria, Australia. She is a proven advocate for ensuring that service systems and social responses to violence promote safety and empower victims, and that responsibility for violence is placed on the perpetrators of violence and on society for its prevention.

Before leaving Australia to travel and relocate to the UK Jacinta was the Chief Executive Officer of a small women’s and children’s domestic violence organisation, chair of a large regional committee for the delivery of integrated domestic violence services and sat on the Government of Victoria’s advisory committee to stop violence against women and children.

The Board continue to strive to ensure the future sustainability and development of SAFE and are confident that the appointment of Jacinta is an important part of this process. Her appointment has been enthusiastically supported by the SAFE team. Jacinta is an inspiring and motivational communicator who cares deeply about organisational development and partnership work. Most of all, she has a powerful sense of respect for and commitment to our clients and the importance of working together to respond effectively and prevent domestic violence.

SAFE is proud to be part of the Women’s Aid Federation of England, working together until all women are free from domestic violence.

Women’s Aid Federation of England is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Over the past 40 years we have listened to the needs of survivors and changed national and local responses to abuse. In that time we have grown into a strong federation, providing local lifesaving services to women and children across the country. We provide support, expert training, qualifications and consultancy to a range of agencies and professionals working with survivors or commissioning domestic abuse services. Our campaigns achieve transformation in policy, practice and awareness, encouraging healthy relationships and helping to build a future where domestic abuse is no longer tolerated.
