Information

Identifying and meeting the needs of children and young people is an important element of the work we do. SAFE has specialist teams of workers to provide a range of services for children and young people living in the refuge and in the communities of Exeter, East and Mid Devon.

Children and Young People in the Refuge

We offer specialist support for children and young people living at the refuge, both individually and in groups. There is accommodation in the refuge for babies, children and young people from 0 – 16 years.

We have a team of workers specially trained to work with children and young people. They provide a range of activities to encourage children and young people to play and express themselves, to share and socialise and interact with each other in a positive manner.

They help children and young people to:-

  • Settle in quickly
  • Make new friends
  • Have someone to talk to
  • Feel good about themselves and their family
  • Find a new school
  • Join in new activities
  • Have fun and go on outings
